Senior Digital Designer (L.A.)
The Role
You’re an experienced digital designer who lives and breathes brand-led UX and UI. You combine technical precision with creative ambition and know how to deliver exceptional digital work, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
At Koto, you’ll help shape world-class digital experiences that bring brands to life across platforms — creating work that’s as thoughtful as it is beautifully executed.
Your Responsibilities
1. Generate high-quality ideas rooted in brand, UX, and UI — and communicate them clearly, both visually and verbally. You bring your team along with you through creative catch-ups and idea sessions that push thinking and raise the bar.
2. You spend most of your time designing. You understand — and can write clear briefs for — accessibility, animation, development, UX, and UI. You know how to bring these elements together into cohesive digital experiences that are conceptually strong, technically sound, and visually distinctive.
3. Work closely with your team, learning from others and supporting more junior designers. You take direction from senior team members and contribute constructively to group critique and feedback sessions.
4. You can build and present client decks that explain the “why” behind your work, bringing confidence and clarity to presentations that adapt to the needs of different stakeholders.
5. You help translate insights from immersion and strategy phases into strong design outcomes, making the strategy feel tangible.
6. You possess a deep understanding of how brands thrive in digital spaces and how to extend a brand system online effectively. You recommend suitable development partners and collaborate comfortably with developers to bring your work to life.
7. You’re proactive, open to feedback, and take responsibility for your growth. You manage your own time, meetings, and deadlines with care.
8. We work in person at our London studio, with flexibility. You’re open to occasional global travel — from Stuttgart to San Francisco.
9. You have a strong working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, Figma, Illustrator, and Pitch — and know when and how to use each effectively.
